Welcome to Fish Head, where Indonesian, Malaysian and Indian flavours collide...

The casual dining room is cool and contemporary with copper clad table tops, witty maritime details and paintings by local artists, while the service is equally polished.

Chef Prachaya Skolaree takes a creative approach to exotic ingredients, reimagining them into colourful fusions that will delight both your eyes and taste buds.

Menus include street food inspired small plates such as samosa and spicy lamb ribs, as well as mouthwatering mains that range from nourishing noodles to spicy seafood. Don’t miss whole crispy barramundi with green apple salad.

Wines mostly focus on the best of South Australia, with a few unusual European options thrown in, while classic cocktails are given an exotic twist through the use of Asian flavours such as coconut, coriander and lime.

For a flavour-filled adventure of an evening in a stylish setting, don’t miss the chance to feast at Fish Head.

Our dining experience at Fish Head was absolutely superb! To be honest, I typically stay away from Indian and multi-Asian cuisine restaurants for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I’ve spent quite some time in India so know what authentic Indian food and what typically gets served up in Indian restaurants outside of Indian is terrible/non-authentic. Secondly, I’d rather eat at a restaurant that focuses on one cuisine as the kitchen typically does better if only doing one cuisine. However, after seeing the menu I thought I’d give it a go and how glad am I that I did.

We ordered the duck and beef cheek mains and samosa, lamb ribs and pork belly starters and ALL of was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious and to me, the flavours were authentic to the region.

The wine list was great and had some variety I.e. it wasn’t all SA wine, which I appreciated.

The service was top notch from the moment we walked in the door until the moment we left.

My only comment is that it was a bit too warm (when coming in from the cold) and the decor a little too dark or perhaps the lighting a little too dim.

I am so thrilled to have found a restaurant that serves up quality Indian and Malaysian food.

Delicious food! We had Hawker style starters of eggplant fritters and the soft shell crab. Mains were F-Duck (the aroma was amazing when it was brought to the table), whole barramundi (surprise! NO BONES!!) and butter chicken. We loved it all, and will definitely return for the taste sensation, thank you.

Staff were welcoming, efficient and happy. Food was superb and extremely tasty. Highly recommend the spicy lamb ribs, chicken satay and street beef naan. Drinks were reasonably priced and there was a nice selection of wine. We had a fantastic evening.

After accomodating our request to include an extra two diners to our booking, we were very impressed with the food and service at Fish Head. Every dish we ordered was delicious and we happily shared some “Hawker” (entree) and “Luxe” (Main) dishes between us. The Beef Rendang and Satay sauce on the chicken were reminiscent of authentic Malaysian food. There were many dishes we would have loved to try and the specials board offered enticing options as well. Cheese naan was perfect for mopping up the delicious sauces and our only regret was we couldn’t fit any more food in! Will definitely go back to try some of the other delicious looking menu items.

This is not our first visit and will definately not be our last! The food is so rich in flavour, an interesting mix of indian and asian cusines. The service is always top notch too, very friendly and accomodating staff.

Perfect way to end a stressful work day. Quiet, good selection of options, perfectly flavoured. The bugs tails were succulent, the duck mouthwatering and tender, gailan added the extra green to our meal. Topped off with a cucumber rama cocktail we trotted happily out the door. Will be back !

The food was excellent, with delightful entrees and delicious mains. The beef cheek curry and moreton bay bugs were both outstanding. Service was friendly and efficient. They have an extensive wine list, but we found the BYO fee of $15 to be reasonable compared to others in Adelaide.
