At Hejo's, it's all about sublime seafood. You'll have to sea for yourself.

Inside it's understated and relaxed, with muted d├ęcor and pretty Chinese lanterns. Find yourself a window seat and watch the world go by, or head to their stylish bar for a tipple or two. At HEJO's, the spotlight is on the food.

To ensure exquisite flavour, they use naturally sourced local ingredients. Start your seafood adventure with some steamed shallots with ginger or save the fish for mains with some vegetable spring rolls. Move on to some fried rice with urchin or keep it really fresh with local Tasmanian grilled fish. If fish isn't for you, there are pork, chicken, beef and vegetarian dishes for you to get stuck into.

And what better way to compliment your meal than with a bottle of vino? Each bottle is specially selected to compliment all those incredible flavours!

We were greeted warmly and given a great seat. ordering the fish of the day and the cumin duck + HEJOS spicy cabbage was a great combination enjoyed immensely. The duck was flambayed and arrived in flames and was absolutely delicious

Very nice food and attentive service. Good to have authentic Chinese food that is not the run of the mill Cantonese fare. Steamed fish special item was awesome.

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We were greeted on arrival like we were at a silver service restaurant. The food was fresh and authentic.

We were served by a friendly waitress.
The dumplings were nicely presented in abalone shells and my nephew gobbled up all eight pork dumplings. The bok choy in garlic is always a hit. Two of us decided to order the spicy Tasmanian grilled whole fish (dori) which comes with vermicelli noodles, capsicum, seaweed, whole chillis and some chips in a serving tray laced in chilli oil. If you're after a rich chilli hit, this is the sharing dish for your table.

Warmth the permeating sensation for our experience at Hejo's. The scene was set with an individual table heater and a very warm greeting by our hostess. The meals were generous and tasty. I recommend the roasted duck pot which had authenticity in bucket loads.

The food was very good, with plenty of fresh vegetables and tasty, well cooked meats (beef, chicken). My satay chicken was not what I expected in a satay dish (I was hoping for peanut sauce), but I guess I don't know enough about chinese cuisine! The wine list was adequate and our wine choice really pleasant and a decent price. The only negative thing was the lack of ambience. It is semi dark and dull, and not enticing from the street. We noted when leaving at 7pm that no one was in Hejo's yet the asian restaurant a couple of doors down, with its brightly coloured street frontage and light interior, was packed with diners.

Decent enough little Chinese restaurant right in the main centre of Hobart. More suited to quick, casual dining. Food was nice.

Food was tasty, the poor waiter looked bored, served us fine, was nothing out of the ordinary.
