Experience the romance of fine French cuisine in an atmospheric environment at Gavroche Chippendale. This is a great location for your next date night or an evening celebrating with your nearest and dearest.

The décor at Gavroche Chippendale is stunning and rich with history. Nearly all the furniture in this restaurant has been imported from France, from the brass-railed banquette setting to the four-metre antique French weaver’s table to the 1950 Parisian VeloSoleX motorised bicycle.

But it’s the food that steals the show. The menu captures that French spirit with a list of favourites you know and love. Appetisers like the beef tartare and the escargot can be paired with delicious mains like the roasted lamb neck and duck confit. The dessert menu also does not disappoint, so make sure you leave some room.

A list of some of the best French and Australian wines have been curated to perfectly complement the menu.

Book a First Table

We were greeted by Kevin, smile and handshake. We were led to our table and menu was prompted handed over to all of us. We ordered oysters, snails, mussels, lamb neck and steak. All the food was well prepared and chef Thomas and his team did a great job. French music to add to the great atmosphere. Kevin was attentive in topping up wine and water. Thank you.

Fabulous experience from booking to eating. Parfait for my wife's birthday.
Felt a bit naughty to be doing a First Table deal because the quality and attention was well beyond what we were paying.
My wife is extremely fussy, but loved every bit of her Onglet steak, Creme Brulé and champagne cocktail.
My escargots and canard were exceptional.
Decor and music exquisite.
I've already recommended it to dozens of friends. We'll be back because at night it would be a really romantic place for a special occasion.
Last, and certainly not least, the lovely young French-speaking waiter who was as parfait as the Gavroche made our visit memorable.
A true gem of an addition to the Sydney dining scene in need of something c'est la difference.

The food here is traditional and perfectly executed.
We were made to feel very welcome and we can’t wait to return and have the lamb again, followed by those beautiful desserts.

Great food and great service. The crab ravioli was the stand out dish- silky smooth and decadently rich

We had an excellent dinner with beautiful food, fine wine and good service. I highly recommend the Moules, they were absolutely delicious. Needless so say the surroundings in the restaurant made you feel like you just may be in Paris!

Great value for money and staff were lovely. Creme brulee and muscles were on point however the frites were a bit stale. First time booking through first table and would definitely do it again.
