We love this restaurant and take good friends here to experience the fabulous food and wine. The service is discreet but prompt and the staff know the menu and the wines to be served with them very well.
We have enjoyed both the a la carte and degustation menus and the quiet ambience of the bar and restaurant. I'd definitely recommend Cellar Door on First as a good quality restaurant on the Sunshine Coast.

What a great place we chose for our wedding anniversary this evening. The seven course degustation menu was amazing. Each course looked beautiful and tasted even better. Thanks chef. Our Bombe Alaska desert was presented to us with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. Made it all such a special evening. Service was great. From start to end our night here was perfect. We all had the 7 course degustation because we didn't want to miss any of the courses. I'm so glad we did, each dish was a treat, a food adventure. What a wonderful find one street back from Mooloolaba Esplanade. The food was amazing and service was great. We were a party of 4 and I had the 7 course degustation menu. The fabulous thing was that no one else in our party wanted to do it and I could do it by myself. Every plate was very tasty and the matching wines were just as good. From the moment we walked in we were met with a welcoming smile, our waitress was outstanding with her knowledge and friendliness. The food was absolutely amazing Mooloolaba prawns and dumplings for entree then we both chose the market fish which was snapper in a beautiful curry sauce, dessert was the coconut rice dish and Bombe Alaska they both were out of this world. So overall a wonderful dining experience and a restaurant we would recommend without question.

Our first time to Cellar Door on First and overall it was a very enjoyable experience. We opted for the 7-course degustation menu for omnivores. The last 5-dishes were fantastic with each of these dishes upping the ante as they were served. Well done to the team at Cellar Door on First! We will gladly return!

My husband and I had a fabulous night, celebrating our anniversary, at the Cellar Door. Everything about our experience was perfect. Both the food and service was amazing, in fact, we felt like we were dining in Melbourne, with such culinary delights. It was a taste sensation and we particularly loved it how the attendants took the time to explain each plate and what it consisted of on serving...so special! We also loved the atmosphere. Being tucked away in a back street and dim lighting, created a very chilled environment. I have already recommended this restaurant to so many of my friends. You have to try it. And you must try the vanilla slice!

WOW! Went with a dining party of three, one of which was a dedicated foodie with years of experience in the food industry, one who cares little and one who likes nice food. We ordered the full degustation menu and it's fair to say that EVERY expectation was exceeded. From the timely delivery to to delightful staff interaction everything was perfect. The food was well portioned, the flavours well balanced - you took a mouthful and hmmm delicious. We thought it might be overwhelming but it was ' just right'. We haven't stopped talking about it and I've even contacted friends to recommend.

Great service, terrific food. We had both the standard and Vegan Degustation (5-7 course tasting plates) shared between the two of us. Each meal looked incredible and tasted even better. Polite staff who were attentive, answered dumb questions and gave good recommendations.

A fantastic place to impress a special someone, and first table makes it even better. Though probably don't tell your date you got a 50% discount like I did.

On holidays and used First Table to find a restaurant and really enjoyed the whole experience. We chose the five course degustation menu and loved every course and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the wines paired to the menu especially The little wine company 2018 Gewurz paired with the spicy quail (fabulous)! We drove from Caloundra and I thought worth the drive. P.S. You must try the bombe Alaska with a glass of Taylor’s port. Yumm

We got to enjoy the first night of the fresh new menu, which was full of surprises. The staff attended to us with professional and friendly service. This was a delectable dining experience, which consisted of rosemary and garlic bread, corn croquettes, and a perfectly cooked 200g rib fillet with a beautiful potato rosti. Having had our fill, we were successfully tempted to share the amazing deconstructed vanilla slice, which has to be tried to be appreciated :) This is five star dining excellence, however, you will not break the bank when you treat yourself to the food and wine at Cellar Door.

Simply faultless. Whenever I complete a review I typically never give the highest score that can be achieved because I always think somewhere there could be some little improvement made to achieve 100% satisfaction. I can’t do that with this establishment because the service, ambience, food taste and quality was absolutely faultless and exceeded my expectations in every way. Staff were experienced at their game tending to our every need swiftly and quietly. Extremely welcoming and down to earth which was a lovely change as given this venue is high class sometimes you get snotty waiters/waitresses at these types of venues but not here. It was an absolutely amazing dining experience that I would highly recommend to those who enjoy and appreciate fine dining. I will be back again and I will be promoting this restaurant to family and friends. Can’t speak highly enough about my dining experience there. 10/10!!

This is our second visit at Cellar Door and it has become my favorite restaurant already! We love everything about this beautiful place; our waitress was discrete yet attentive and the food was divine, full of flavors, very international and well priced! Great selection of wines as well!

Cellar Door Sunshine Coast - 3 of us dined here on Sat night and we choose to partake of the Menu Degustation 5 courses - all courses where exceptionally well presented and of excellent quality - one of us also had the wine match which highlighted a range of Australian, Spanish and Portuguese wines. The Hero Dish for us all was the Scollop Dumplings - dining room staff where very well informed on both the menu and the wines available. We would highly recommend this excellent restaurant.

We had a fabulous night at Cellar Door on first in Mooloolaba. The service was great all night with knowledgeable and friendly staff who provided a top notch experience for us. The restaurant's location is easy to find and easy to park. The atmosphere in the restaurant is classy and comfortable. BUT the winner on the night was the phenomenal food! The chef has provided a unique menu with flavours that are some of the best you will taste on the coast. Every dish was sensational and I can highly recommend the moeton bug kiev, scaallops and the whole fish. A taste sensation that has me wanting to go back very soon to taste more dishes off this delicious menu. A winner from start to finish. Thanks to all the team from Cellar door.

Incredible food and experience - what a gem! We had lunch at Cellar Door on First and four of us had the 5 course degustation menu with matching wines. The waitress was amazing. Her commentary on every course and wine made the lunch fantastic. We ate at a leisurely pace and did not feel rushed or overly full. The wines were all quite interesting and did compliment the meals. The drinks were reasonably priced. The restaurant is easy to find at Mooloolaba. It is inviting and comfortable. This restaurant is well worth a visit. The food is amazing, and the selections are well planned and presented. We selected the Hervey Bay scallop as a starter, which comes in a beautiful delicate sauce,. and then the Moreton Bay bug Kiev for an entree, which was equally memorable. Our main was the whole fish, (for 2) and was beautifully cooked and presented. The service is also excellent, so 5 stars from me.

Hands down this has to be the best restaurant we have eaten in on the sunny coast....and we have been to all the top ones....At little off the beaten track....but the food is out of this world
Morton bay bug kiev, amazing combination of flavours. Waggu steak was cooked to perfection....like a knife cutting through butter..jerk chicken amazing ...to finish bomb alaska, which i've not eaten since catering college-absolute perfection.
And to top it off an attentive , knowledgable waitress...absolutely perfect in every way, so much so we have reserved for Christmas,although will definitely be back before then....

We chose Cellar Door for our anniversary and it was perfect.

The atmosphere is very nice, the service excellent and the food is amazing!

My husband ordered the 7 course degustation plus matching wines (the degustation was included in the half price deal. The wines were not included but at an extra $60 for 7 wines it was good value).

I ordered several of the scallops which are just the most deliciously tasty little morsels.

I also had the Moreton Bay bug kiev which had a lovely mix of flavours.

My husband enjoyed all his dishes, even the venison - which amongst other flavours had a beetroot and white chocolate sauce.

I tried a mouthful of several of the degustation menu items - the mushroom croquette really packed a punch with flavour and I would definitely order the scallop dumplings again. As for the chocolate desert - I just wish it came with more peanut butter icecream.

Overall it was a lovely dinner in a lovely restaurant.

Food for the Foodie, truly classy dishes. We had the 7 course degustation set menu with matching wine. Regional, Australian and overseas wines were served in a very generous glass. This restaurant has one of the best ambiences on the coast and is beautifully set out with the tables not too close to each other. The staff are extremely attentive and the service is fantastic.

We started with pumpkin bread rolls with ash butter which were light and fluffy. It was followed by Scallop dumplings with pink ginger and duck ham in green tea dashi. The mains were Whole Fried King fish with sweet and sour and green papaya salad; and Lamb shoulder, rib - loin - lentils - carrot - curds & whey. The King fish was spectacular when it came to the table standing upright on the plate as it was bought to the table. The King fish is to share and both really enjoyed it. The lamb shoulder and loin was also very tasty - the lentils really added to the dish. There are several main dishes which serve two so it helps if you have two diners who would like the same meal. The desserts were also stunning - the bombe alaska was made with sweet potato ice cream which was delicious with orange and spiced rum while the chocolate torte with peanut butter and rice bubbles was very intriguing and just as Moorish. I can't say enough about this restaurant - it always gives you something new and delicious.

Who would have thought that passion fruit and chilli sorbet in our cocktail could be so amazing. This is now our new favourite place and we will be back to try more of their imaginative menu.

The ambience of this restaurant is just stunning, it would be one of the best I have dined in. The food we had was innovative and delicious to eat. Potato bread was light and airy with a black sesame butter to start, followed by a chicken liver pate with raspberry jam (made in the restaurant) on light toast was delicious together with a Moreton Bay Bug which was very tasty. The mains were a beef rib which was served with a tasty fried rice and a special sauce which served two and a belly pork with specially fried crisp root vegetables, rice congee. The desserts were a Turkish delight bombe alaska and a chocolate torte with frangelico and orange and hazelnut. The service was very good with an explanation of every dish when they arrived by the staff. Drinks were filled continuously and there was no interruption to our conversation by the staff but the service was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to all with the proviso that the food is a little different to the norm but try it - you will be very surprised at how good it is.

It is so pleasing to find that this newcomer is reaching and exceeding the bar set by its sister establishment next door, Back Lane Bar & Tapas, a place we regularly haunt. Cellar Door is a classy restaurant, subdued lighting and thoroughly professional, yet warm and friendly staff. We ate here on a quiet Wednesday evening. We started with some lovely scallop dumplings with duck ham and a divine green tea dashi and a morton bay bug kiev. We had some lovely mains including pork belly with abalone, rice congee, sweet corn, pimentos & black bean, and, confit duck leg with duck lap cheong, sweet potato noodles, oyster mushrooms & yellow soy bean. Accompanied by a lovely rocket salad with. Loved the meal! We had a lovely night and will be doing Cellar Door again, with friends.

Absolutely beautiful ambience as you walk in to Celler Door on first mooloolaba greeted with a warm smile .
Menu is very extensive and wines to match scallop dumplings were amazing your taste buds tingled wanting more.
Lamb excellent melted in your mouth.
Dessert well lights went low out come Bom Alaska flames and theatre .
Wines were so good Italian and match every meal.
Shane was the manger and front of house knowledge of food wine and delightful conversation.
So recommend this hidden gem

We were visitors to the area and were very impressed with the quality of food and service. My husband had the meat degustation meal which was outstanding, beautiful flavours and variety; I was able to share some of it so we were more than satisfied. We have never dined at Cellar door before and wow what a surprise!
We had the 7course degustation with matching wines.
The wines were unique and many European wines on offer, which is a big difference to most restaurants on the coast.

The waitress was lovely and they even changed out one of the courses for us as we wanted to try the whole fried fish.

I can not fault this venue. Great food and great wine and very genourous servings.

This restaurant is stunning to walk into - the ambience is spectacular with the decor in hues of brown, black and gold. There is a substantial wine fridge at the rear side wall along with an extensive wine menu. There is also a substantial beer, soft drink and cocktail list.

The menu has a degustation menu; a paired degustation and then an extensive menu, with appetisers, entrees, mains, mains for two, and desserts. A children's menu is also available.

Two of the four of us ordered directly from the menu - potato rolls with sesame butter were absolutely delicious, we shared a crab tart - also spectacular. An entree of scallop dumplings with pink ginger and enoki mushrooms was also enjoyed. Two ordered the pork belly with alterations, both said it was delicious and the chef altered the advertised menu item to suit the customers. The other two ordered the Confit of Duck with Chinese duck sausage, sweet potato noodles and oyster mushrooms - again it was outstanding. For dessert we ordered their version of Bombe Alaska which was different and especially nice.

Would heartily recommend this restaurant to all - the best restaurant we have eaten at for many years.

We love this restaurant and take good friends here to experience the fabulous food and wine. The service is discreet but prompt and the staff know the menu and the wines to be served with them very well.
We have enjoyed both the a la carte and degustation menus and the quiet ambience of the bar and restaurant. I'd definitely recommend Cellar Door on First as a good quality restaurant on the Sunshine Coast.

Upon entry we were greeted warmly by our waitress for the evening. The restaurant was dimly lit and quite romantic. Our waters were frequently topped up and we enjoyed the sorbet between courses. We loved being served all night and the waitress explained in detail all the dishes and sauces. It was delicious and we'd certainly go again.

What a wonderful find one street back from Mooloolaba Esplanade. The food was amazing and service was great. We were a party of 4 and I had the 7 course degustation menu. The fabulous thing was that no one else in our party wanted to do it and I could do it by myself. Every plate was very tasty and the matching wines were just as good. We had a sensational night at the Cellar Door on First. On arrival the restaurant was comfortably air conditioned with a relaxing ambiance. The service was outstanding and every meal was placed on the table with a detailed description. My husband and I had three courses which all looked equally impressive and tasty. My parents also dined with us and they do love their desserts. They were thrilled with the presentation of the Bombe Alaska and the flavours did not disappoint. The dishes do er on the size of fine dining so take full advantage of the great discount you've been given. We enjoyed 2 snacks, 3 entrees and the Lamb to Share are were extremely satisfied our choices.

From the moment we walked in we were met with a welcoming smile, our waitress was outstanding with her knowledge and friendliness. The food was absolutely amazing Mooloolaba prawns and dumplings for entree then we both chose the market fish which was snapper in a beautiful curry sauce, dessert was the coconut rice dish and Bombe Alaska they both were out of this world. My husband and I had a fabulous night, celebrating our anniversary, at the Cellar Door. Everything about our experience was perfect. Both the food and service was amazing, in fact, we felt like we were dining in Melbourne, with such culinary delights. It was a taste sensation and we particularly loved it how the attendants took the time to explain each plate and what it consisted of on serving...so special! We also loved the atmosphere. Being tucked away in a back street and dim lighting, created a very chilled environment. I have already recommended this restaurant to so many of my friends. You have to try it. And you must try the vanilla slice!

WOW! Went with a dining party of three, one of which was a dedicated foodie with years of experience in the food industry, one who cares little and one who likes nice food. We ordered the full degustation menu and it's fair to say that EVERY expectation was exceeded. From the timely delivery to to delightful staff interaction everything was perfect. The food was well portioned, the flavours well balanced - you took a mouthful and hmmm delicious. We thought it might be overwhelming but it was ' just right'. We haven't stopped talking about it and I've even contacted friends to recommend.

Great service, terrific food. We had both the standard and Vegan Degustation (5-7 course tasting plates) shared between the two of us. Each meal looked incredible and tasted even better. Polite staff who were attentive, answered dumb questions and gave good recommendations.

A fantastic place to impress a special someone, and first table makes it even better. Though probably don't tell your date you got a 50% discount like I did.

We chose the five course degustation menu and loved every course and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the wines paired to the menu especially The little wine company 2018 Gewurz paired with the spicy quail (fabulous)! We got to enjoy the first night of the fresh new menu, which was full of surprises. The staff attended to us with professional and friendly service. This was a delectable dining experience, which consisted of rosemary and garlic bread, corn croquettes, and a perfectly cooked 200g rib fillet with a beautiful potato rosti. Having had our fill, we were successfully tempted to share the amazing deconstructed vanilla slice, which has to be tried to be appreciated :) This is five star dining excellence, however, you will not break the bank when you treat yourself to the food and wine at Cellar Door.

Simply faultless. Whenever I complete a review I typically never give the highest score that can be achieved because I always think somewhere there could be some little improvement made to achieve 100% satisfaction. I can’t do that with this establishment because the service, ambience, food taste and quality was absolutely faultless and exceeded my expectations in every way. Staff were experienced at their game tending to our every need swiftly and quietly. Extremely welcoming and down to earth which was a lovely change as given this venue is high class sometimes you get snotty waiters/waitresses at these types of venues but not here. It was an absolutely amazing dining experience that I would highly recommend to those who enjoy and appreciate fine dining. I will be back again and I will be promoting this restaurant to family and friends. Can’t speak highly enough about my dining experience there. 10/10!!

This is our second visit at Cellar Door and it has become my favorite restaurant already! We love everything about this beautiful place; our waitress was discrete yet attentive and the food was divine, full of flavors, very international and well priced! Great selection of wines as well!

Cellar Door Sunshine Coast - 3 of us dined here on Sat night and we choose to partake of the Menu Degustation 5 courses - all courses where exceptionally well presented and of excellent quality - one of us also had the wine match which highlighted a range of Australian, Spanish and Portuguese wines. The Hero Dish for us all was the Scollop Dumplings - dining room staff where very well informed on both the menu and the wines available. We would highly recommend this excellent restaurant.
